Is it this line > libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable. for drives that work well, a few discs will still give problems. some drives will not reliably read any disc if it’s not set. Ok, one possibility is that the region code of your drive is not set. I didn’t let the film complete, would that matter? will need to see an activity log of the problem encode to get more info. Hmm, so you do have it installed already. There should be libdvdcss as well, without -devįrom the terminal, try ‘ sudo apt-get install libdvdcssĬame back with: > libdvdcss2 is already the newest versionĪnd :> selecting libdvdcss2 instead of libdvdcss Oh, did a refresh again and now there is a libdvdcss-dev so I guess it’s that. (did update)ĭo have “Commonly used restricted packages for Ubuntu” & “library for reading DVDs” Still searched for libdvdcss and didb’t seem to get anything new. Sorry, can’t find instructions for ubuntu 10.4 – If you could, could you ponit a noob in the direction. google, follow the directions they give for adding the repo You have to add the medibuntu repository. I put libdvdcss into SynapticPM, can’t see anything like libdvdcss Would this cause the issue of preview OK, but RIP error ? can be obtained from the medibuntu repository. Kv102t: have you install libdvdcss? you need it. Just installed HB on ubuntu 10.4 Seems to work, but film (Die Hard 3) is green/white/other squares. Strange, But 99% of the time the Quality is good. Some ugly copy protection scheme that makes the first couple minutes of the movie part of the dvd menus instead of putting it in a title set. The german version of ‘The Walker’ it completely skips the first couple minutes of the movie. but there’s one that i know of that it does a very poor job of. I’ve not run into any myself that it flat out fails on. Thanks J45 – One more question, Do you know of any DVD’s that HB can’t copy? Protected? Ok, i only had the ubuntu PPA so i must have got confused. they are not in the official ubuntu repository Kv102t: only possible if you had another ppa installed that has them. I thought they where there before I did the PPA? is that possible? Then you should see the packages ‘handbrake-gtk’ and ‘handbrake-cli’ in ubuntus package manager You added the ppa to your software sources? How do i make sure i download the HB from the correct PPA? (IRC people, I have ubuntu 10.4 – I have added the PPA, now what. Add handbrake PPA to your Ubuntu system –Ĭhat From someone helping with Install.
